Websphere Portal Administrator

Lead all Websphere installations and modifications for a large, production systems serving over a million users.  As operational lead, this position will also be responsible for validating technical design and assisting with the development and deployment of new applications.  Tasks include, but are not limited to:               

·         install, configure, maintain and support instances of WebSphere products including Application Server, Portal Server, Process Server, MQ Series, and others on Windows and AIX  platforms

·         assist with the implementation of, and execute the operation of, system monitoring tools and scripts

·         configure system level security as required by the applications

·         establish, maintain, and monitor connectivity with directory services as well as web, application and database servers

·         maintain documentation for system support; mentor other administrators

 

Qualifications:  

Required:

·         experience with the planning, deployment and support of  Websphere Portal Server and related technologies (minimally Version 5.x, experience with Version 6.x a plus)

·         strong communication skills, technical discipline, initiative and teaming attitude

·         eligibility for a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance (employment offer will be contingent on the candidate’s ability to qualify for a clearance.

Desired:

·         certifications in associated technologies such as IBM Websphere Application Server, DB2, Tivoli Storage Manager

·         experience with SiteMinder and LDAP-based directory services

·         knowledge of both Microsoft Windows and AIX, SANs, and network components

·         experience with the FileNet P8 suite

·         experience with Computer Associates Site Minder
